We are honoured to announce that our late colleague, Professor Julius Yam, has been awarded the prestigious Wedderburn Prize for his article, ‘Judging Under Authoritarianism’ (2024) 87(4) Modern Law Review 894-925.

The Modern Law Review is a leading law journal. Each year it awards the Wedderburn Prize ‘for a contribution to that year’s volume which in the opinion of the Editorial Committee is exemplary of the type of scholarship that the Modern Law Review aims to promote’. In awarding the prize, particular attention is paid to the work of early career scholars.

The Prize was announced at the Chorley Lecture & Dinner on 11 June 2025.

We are immensely proud of Julius’ achievements and look forward to continuing to celebrate his legacy of distinguished scholarship.
