The Faculty congratulates six new silks who were called to the Inner Bar at the Senior Counsel Admission Ceremony last Saturday (16 May), in particular four HKU Law alumni (in alphabetical order):

Ms Bonnie Cheng Yan-ki (LLB 2007, PCLL 2008)
Mr Calvin Cheuk Yuen-cheong (LLB 2002, PCLL 2003)
Mr Martin Wong Wing-hoi (LLB 2001, PCLL 2002)
Mr Eugene Yim Wing-tsang (LLB 1999, PCLL 2001)

The Faculty wishes them the best in their legal career; and appreciates unwavering support from the Hong Kong Bar Association (HKBA). Mr Jose Maurellet SC, Chairman of the HKBA, during his address at the Ceremony, recognized the HKU Law’s achievements, “……a long tradition of excellence, world-class standards, institutional autonomy, a high degree of internationalism coupled with a strong commitment to the local community”.

Following the admissions, the total number of Senior Counsel practising in Hong Kong now stands at 109 including 52 HKU Law alumni.
