We are proud to share that the HKU Summer Institute: Future Legal Professionals has successfully concluded on 2 July 2025, marking a vibrant and memorable week of exploration, learning and connection. This year, we welcomed a cohort of 120 students from over 90 secondary schools—each bringing fresh perspectives and a passion for the law.
Throughout the programme, participants engaged in a dynamic suite of academic and experiential sessions. These included masterclasses led by faculty’s academic staff and professors, mock trial workshops, exposure to the legal profession, and visits to the city’s legal landmark. The experience offered students a valuable glimpse into the foundations of law and what it means to study law at HKU.

The week ended with a closing ceremony graced by Professor Hualing Fu, Dean of HKU Faculty of Law, who celebrated the achievements of our aspiring legal professionals. Parents joined us in marking the occasion. We were also grateful for the guidance of our course instructors, Mr Jacky Yeung and Professor Craig Purshouse, whose knowledge and mentorship shaped the experience throughout.
A joyful group snapshot with our students, parents, and the dedicated team of the faculty came together for a big smile to wrap up an incredible week.
To all our participants—thank you for your enthusiasm, hard work and engagement. We hope to welcome many of you back to HKU in the future as proud members of our university community.
