HKU Faculty of Law was honoured to host the Rowdget Young Public Lecture on 24 February 2026 at the Academic Conference Room, 11/F Cheng Yu Tung Tower, Centennial Campus, The University of Hong Kong. We were privileged to have Professor Charles Mitchell KC (Hon), University College London, to speak on the topic “One Term, Two Concepts: Breach of Fiduciary Duty in the UK Supreme Court”. More than 150 judges, practitioners, alumni, staff and students filled the Academic Conference Room and live broadcasting room. The lecture was chaired by Professor Rebecca Lee, HKU Faculty of Law.

Professor Mitchell discussed recent cases, highlighting the distinction between duties of administration and loyalty within fiduciary law. He emphasized that understanding these differences clarifies rules on fiduciary breaches and damages, especially in landmark decisions like Rukhadze and Stevens.

The Lecture recording is now available at HKU Faculty of Law YouTube Channel.
