The 2025 Chinese Mooting Competition, co-organised by the Faculty of Law and the School of Chinese at the University of Hong Kong, was successfully held on 15 February 2025 (Saturday). This is the second year of the Competition since first ever held in 2024 for university law students in Hong Kong.

34 students studying for the LLB and PCLL programmes participated in the Competition in teams of two. The competition question involves the Mainland Judgments (Reciprocal Enforcement) Ordinance (Cap 597), where competitors are required to make written and oral submissions based on two recent Hong Kong Court of Appeal cases regarding the scope of choice of court agreements and the ground of fraud when setting aside the registration of judgments.

Once again, experienced judicial officers and legal professionals have graced the Competition as judges and prize presenters. All judges unanimously praised the outstanding performance of the competitors.

The overall champion is Mr Chan Wan (BSocSc(Govt&Laws)&LLB 5) and Mr Ho Chung Wa (BSocSc(Govt&Laws)&LLB 5). The champion for best written submissions goes to Mr Cheng Pat Hei (BBA(Law)&LLB 5) and Mr Cheung Ho Tang (BSocSc(Govt&Laws)&LLB 4), and the champion for best advocate goes to Mr Go Ka Hang (PCLL). Hong Kong is the only common law jurisdiction in the world that operates in both Chinese and English, and the development of legal Chinese is of crucial importance. The Faculty of Law has always strived to push for the development of bilingual legal system in Hong Kong, including the offering of courses on legal Chinese and legal language, and organising activities related to Chinese advocacy.

香港大學2025年度中文模擬法庭比賽

由香港大學法律學院與中文學院合辦的 2025 年度中文模擬法庭比賽已於 2025 年 2 月 15 日（星期六）圓滿舉行。此比賽於 2024 年 4 月首次為香港法律系大學生舉辦，今年已是第二屆。

34 名修讀法律本科及法學專業證書的學生，以兩人一隊形式參加比賽。比賽題目涉及《內地判決(交互強制執行)條例》（第 597 章），參賽者須基於兩宗上訴法庭的新近案例，就選用法院協議的範圍和以欺詐手段為由申請廢除登記判決作書面及口頭陳詞。

比賽再次獲得經驗豐富的司法人員及法律專業人士擔任評判及頒獎嘉賓。各評判均一致讚賞各參賽者的優秀表現。

比賽由陳允（政治學、法學雙學士五年級）、何仲樺（政治學、法學雙學士五年級）奪得總冠軍，鄭弼熙（工商管理學、法學雙學士五年級）、張顥騰（政治學、法學雙學士四年級）奪得最佳書面陳詞獎冠軍，吳嘉恆（法學專業證書）奪得最佳訟辯律師獎冠軍。完整得獎名單可以在此查閱。

香港作為世界上唯一以中英文雙語運作的普通法司法管轄區，發展法律中文尤為重要。法律學院一直致力推動本港雙語法制發展，包括開辦法律中文及法律語言的課程，以及舉辦與中文訟辯相關的活動。
