HKU Law was honoured to host the second lecture in our lecture series on “Hong Kong’s Legal Journey” on 16 September 2026 in the Academic Conference Room, 11/F, Cheng Yu Tung Tower. We were privileged to have our law alumnus, Mr Ronny Tong Ka-Wah, QC, SC, GBS, JP, for exploring the nature and characteristics of the legal regime under ‘One Country, Two Systems’, and tackle the question: “Is the common-law system in peril under One Country, Two Systems?”.
The opening speech was given by Professor Hualing Fu, Dean of the HKU Faculty of Law. The lecture was moderated by Professor Albert Chen, HKU Faculty of Law. Over 100 attendees, including legal practitioners, professors, and law students, filled the Academic Conference Room and live broadcasting room.
We would like to thank Mr Tong for his contributions and the audience for their warm support. Please stay tuned for the Lecture recording.
