On 11 November 2022, HKU Faculty of Law and the China International Trade and Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) signed an MOU with the aim of enhancing collaboration between the two institutions. Professor Hualing Fu, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Mr Chengjie Wang, Vice-Chairman and Secretary General of CIETAC expressed their mutual hope that the MOU will provide new opportunities for strengthened cooperation between the two institutions.

Building on a long-standing relationship with the Faculty of Law and the Faculty’s LLM in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution programme, the MOU seeks to support activities aimed at enhancing students learning opportunities through academic seminars, the development of joint research, and the promotion of CIETAC’s internship program.  Also in attendance were Professor Yun Zhao, Head of the Department of Law, Professor Shahla Ali, Associate Dean and Director of the LLM in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution programme, Mr Brad Wang, Deputy Secretary General of CIETAC HK and Ms Lu Fei, Director of Business Development at CIETAC.
