HKU Faculty of Law and Temple Chambers were honoured to co-host a lecture on 2 September 2025 at the Philip K.H. Wong Theatre, 2/F Cheng Yu Tung Tower, Centennial Campus, The University of Hong Kong. We were privileged to have Lord Richards of Camberwell, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, to speak on the topic “Injunctions – an expanding universe?”. Almost 300 attendees, including judges, legal practitioners, professors, and law students filled the Philip K.H. Wong Theatre. The lecture was moderated by the Acting Chief Justice of Hong Kong, the Honourable Mr Justice Ribeiro PJ. The opening speeches were given by Professor Hualing Fu, Dean of the HKU Faculty of Law, and Mr Paul Shieh SC, Head of Temple Chambers.
The lecture examined the evolution of injunctions from their equitable origins to their expanded role in addressing fundamental legal issues. Lord Richards highlighted recent UK Supreme Court and Privy Council rulings that demonstrate how injunctions are shaping modern law.
We would like to thank our generous co-sponsor, Temple Chambers, the speakers for their contributions, and the audience for their warm support. Please stay tuned for the Lecture recording.
