LITE Lab@HKU is proud to announce the launch of “From Chatbots to Workflows and Agents: Developing a Beginner’s Mind to Adopt Responsible GenAI into Legal Practice”, developed in collaboration with Microsoft, with support from Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation & Technology Association (ALITA) and The Law Society of Hong Kong.

During this current rapid rate of GenAI development, Mr Brian Tang, Founding Executive Director of LITE Lab at HKU Law, recommends that legal professionals and allied professionals put aside preconceptions and embrace a beginner’s mind as lawyer-builders, where 7 legal professional user personas are identified from Private Practice and Legal & Compliance Departments.

The “Cookbook” publication also poses key strategic questions to law firm and legal department leaders as they explore how to incorporate GenAI into legal practice, alongside hints for the way forward, where governance and information security remain critical.

LITE Lab hopes that this project can serve to inspire time-constrained legal and allied professionals to develop their own bespoke solutions responsibly as GenAI-driven platforms become more powerful and user-friendly.
