The Law Society of Hong Kong newly introduced ‘Student Awards’ under the Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Programme 2023, to recognise outstanding achievements on pro bono and community services in the legal profession during 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023. Out of 57 Student Awardees (page 78-83 of Ceremony Booklet), 45 are from HKU Law:

  • 20 students, having performed work of not less than 100 hours, received the Gold Award
  • 15 students, having performed work of not less than 50 hours, received the Silver Award
  • 10 students, having performed work of not less than 20 hours, received the Bronze Award

The Faculty takes pride not only in students’ achievements but also how the pro bono spirit has taken root outside our classroom. More details are available at Mingpao (Chinese version only) and we look forward to sharing more stories later.
